Stabbing During Beijing Olympics

In Beijing the in-laws of the US team’s Volleyball coach were stabbed by a Chinese man. The coach’s mother-in-law was killed and father-in-law was severely injured. The killer then killed himself by jumping of the balcony they were on at the time. Many are grieving over Coach Hugh McCutcheon’s loss.

New Bristol Art

The city of Bristol placed 10 new peaces of artwork in the downtown area on Wednesday many citizens are asking the question “What is it?”. Here is some of the art.

State Congressional Races

Yesterday the state of Tennessee voted for many local offices. One of which is the race for congressman. Phil Roe and David Davis are running in that race. We’ll have results when they become available.

Two Charged in Warehouse Fire

We have a new development in the Greeneville Warehouse fire. Two men were charged in the fire. Matthew Keith Rose and Jory Ramirez, both 18, were charged in destruction of government property since the Andrew Johnson House was just next door.

Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday

The Tax Free Holiday is August 1-3 and we’d like to tell you about the exempt items. Those exempt include clothing $100 or less, school supplies $100 or less, and computer systems $1,500 or less.

Johnson City to Sell Railroad

Johnson City’s deal with the company owning the Tweetsie Railroad is off. It is up for bids again. Now the city must decide if it will bid again. They will have a meeting to decide.

New Road in Carter County

State Representative Kent Williams is planning to build a new road in Carter County The road would go around Gap Creek Road and go through many homes. In a public meeting most people are displeased with the road even though Williams still insists on the road.

Gunman in Church

In Knoxville a gunman opened fire in a church sanctuary on Sunday killing two. It is believed that the motive is that he didn’t like liberals.
