Flag Day Events

Yesterday was Flag Day. There were a few events in the region.

At the Johnson City Housing Authority Building, Rolling Thunder hosted an event. They raised the flag and honored it and those who fought to protect it.

In Greeneville, at the Andrew Johnson Site, they showed children haw to treat the flag and fold it.

Boat Capsizes in Boone Lake

A boat capsized on Friday on Boone Lake the boater was missing and officials conducted a search for him that lasted only 24 hours. It has been confimed that the body they found around 7pm on Saturday was that of 49 yr old, David Benton. The other three people that were on the boat are doing okay. Alcohol played a role in that crash.

Allegations of Fraud in Iran Election

Iran’s supreme leader has ordered an investigation on the allegations of fraud in the recent elections. He ordered the Guardian council to study the allegations on the election between Mousavi and Pres. Ahmadinejad. The head of the council said that they will rule within 10 days if it was a healthy election after assessing appeals from Mousavi and another candidate Mohsen Rezaie.
