Johnson City Press Christmas Box a Success

We have an update on a story we first told you about in June. The Johnson City Press Christmas box had a very successful year. They raised a total of over $17,000 which helped them to serve more than 500 families at their recent distribution day on December 21st. They thank all those that helped and hope to have another successful year next year.

Gap Creek Road Project Delayed

The completion of the new Gap Creek Road project has been delayed. Crews were working on the road this week when they discovered an area of soft material. They had previously believed that the entire area was hard rock. The original completion date was set for October, but it has now been pushed back to May of next year.

New Tax Law

A new law went into effect on Wednesday in Tennessee. The new law requires the collection of state sales tax for purchases on Amazon.com. The tax collection is expected to provide about $17 million in revenue for the state.
